SCORM Cloud Dispatch: Empty Learner ID Error

When a Dispatch package is launched, it's going to ask the launching LMS for a couple of pieces of information...two of which are LearnerID and Learner Name. If the client LMS doesn't send anything, you'll receive that error. While this error is self explanatory, there are a few things you can do to narrow down the root cause:

  1. In some cases, if you are launching the SCO in a "New Window", you run into an issue where the course can't get an answer from the LMS which results with this error. If you are launching New Window, I would test launching in the Frameset to see if it resolves the issue. Details on how to change the launch behavior here.

  2. If that doesn't resolve the issue, you can create a Dispatch Debug package. Once created, share it with the client to import into their LMS. Have them test it as a learner and send us the log that opens after they have launched and exited the course. This will allow us to confirm what is (or isn't) being sent.
