Error code 104: "The signature attached to the call does not match the signature generated on the server."

Question

We received the following error message we try to launch a course:
Unable to open the course "{Course Name}" for the App {AppID}.
Error message: <rsp stat="fail"> <err code="104" msg="The signature attached to the call does not match the signature generated on the server."/>

 

Answer

This normally means that the application's authorization (secret) key has been disabled or otherwise deleted. This prevents authentication of requests based on that application, and is why you're seeing these failures.

You can enable it (or create a new one) via the Apps/API tab.

> Click "Details" next to the appID

> Scroll down to the "Authorization Key" section 

> Toggle it "ON" or Create a new Key.
