Issues with Autoplay in Chrome 66 and Later

Chrome recently updated its autoplay policies and these changes impact video playback with sound. Details here.

You may no longer be able to hear audio when a course automatically launches. You will need to pause and resume the training to prompt audio to return.

If you're creating a new course, you can work around Chrome's new behavior by not adding a video on the first slide and using the prompt-to-resume feature in your player.

Storyline Update and Workaround

You can also have your IT admin review Chrome's configure policies and settings to help set these new autoplay related enterprise policies:

  • The "AutoplayAllowed" policy controls whether autoplay is allowed or not.
  • The "AutoplayWhitelist" policy allows you to specify a whitelist of URL patterns where autoplay will always be enabled.
