Content Controller - Import Warnings and Failures

Avatar

During content import, Content Controller will inspect the contents of uploaded zip packages for dangerous file types as an extra layer of protection for you.

Sometimes this will result in you seeing either "Import Successful" but with warnings:

Or "Import Failed" with failures:

This is due to either unknown or blocked file types in your zip package. In most cases, this is simply because there is a file type in your zip that Content Controller doesn't recognize, i.e. a new font. As long as you see the "Import Successful" at the top of the notification there is nothing you need to do since what caused the warning will not cause your course to function incorrectly.

If instead you get, "Import Failure", you may need to add the file type to the "Allowed MIME types" section of content security. This can be found by following the path:

Gear Icon > Administration > Settings > Content Security.

Simply move or add the MIME type causing the failure to the "Allowed MIME types" section and import your content again. You should see an "import successful" message and can now move on.
