Can I create my own custom Course Id?

You sure can! We know that uploading your courses to SCORM Cloud is much easier than writing calls to our API. So we’ve made it easier for you to upload your courses and specify a Course Id, right from SCORM Cloud.

When you import a course via the API, you have to supply a Course Id, right?  This feature allows you to do the same thing, just inside of SCORM Cloud. This would be useful if you are wanting to organize your record store or if you want your Course Id in a specific format.

It’s not mandatory for you to specify a Course Id, but we like for you to have the option.
By default, if you don’t specify a Course Id, we will generate a random Course Id for you.

Because we like options (we think you do too), there’s a couple of places where you can create a custom Course Id.

Course Ids really only apply to our App and API users, so you will only find this option if you are using Apps. It goes a little something like this:


1. Log in to your SCORM Cloud account

2. Click Add Content and Import a SCORM, AICC, xAPI, or cmi5 package



3. Choose your file, pick an App to import into, if you wish, and enter the course Id in the Specify a Course Id field and click Import



Your course will be added to your library and will be complete with a custom Course Id.
