Multi-Sco Course

Question

I'm looking at our customers courses and I see that a lot of them are composed of multiple SCOs, or one course, multiple zip packages. We are trying to figure out how to manage this situation on SCORM Cloud. We can create multiple courses in the cloud (one for each zip package) but then we have to create a lot of registrations for every alum and manage the data in our LMS.Is there any way to manage this situation on Scorm Cloud??? Is it posible to have multiple packages on just one cloud course??

Answer

A SCORM Cloud course corresponds directly to a SCORM PIF (package interchange file). The only way to circumvent this would be to create a SCORM package that contains many SCOs within it. This is possible, although few of the authoring tools do this for you. It requires creating a multi-SCO course as seen in the examples here.

My apologies- I forgot to link to the examples. The post has been updated but here is the direct link:  http://scorm.com/scorm-explained/technical-scorm/golf-examples/#multiscoexample

I am impressed. It appears that you are saying that we are one of the few authoring tools to properly create a multi-SCO course, i.e. not one that is a zip file containing multiple single SCO zip files but a course that offers multiple SCO's (with navigation) in a single SCORM zip container.

I guess it really paid off hiring Mike to write our SCORM conversion package.
