SCORM Cloud Moodle Module

We have released the next version of our Moodle module for SCORM Cloud, adding support for Moodle 2.0 and 2.1. With this release, all current releases of Moodle (1.9, 2.0 and 2.1) can now be integrated with the SCORM Cloud.

Note: We are now listed in the Moodle Plugins database as two separate plugins. The SCORM Cloud for Moodle activity plugin is required to display SCORM Cloud content, while the SCORM Cloud Course Format plugin is optional and allows you to create a new type of Moodle course that consists only of a single SCORM package. If you install/download from the Moodle Plugins database, follow the installation instructions displayed there.

The bundled packages (that contain both the activity and course format plugins) are listed on the downloads page as scormcloud_bundle-[version]. The mod_scormcloud-[version] and format_scormcloud-[version] are the individual plugins (activity and course format, respectively) that are available at the Moodle Plugins database.

To use and configure the module, you'll need to sign up for a SCORM Cloud account.

The installation for both Moodle 1.9 and 2.x are mostly the same. For any version, start by downloading the appropriate module package for your version of Moodle and then extract the files to your computer. The instructions below assume that you have downloaded one of the bundle packages.

  1. Upload/copy the directories in the module to the installation directory of your Moodle instance.
    • course-format/scormcloud --> course/format folder in Moodle
    • mod/scormcloud --> mod folder in Moodle
  2. Log in with an administrator account and Moodle will show you a list of modules to be upgraded/installed. Click upgrade.
  3. When prompted to configure the SCORM Cloud Module, enter the information available on your 'Apps' page on the SCORM Cloud website.

  1. Upload the directories according to the structure in the zip file
    • course/format to course/format
    • admin/report/scormcloud to admin/report/scormcloud
    • scormcloud to the moodle mod folder
  2. Log in as admin, go to the Notifications page, and the import scripts will run.
  3. When prompted to configure the SCORM Cloud Module, enter the information available on your 'Apps' page on the SCORM Cloud website.

Create a course as usual in Moodle, but select the SCORM Cloud format option from the dropdown. After you finish the standard Moodle course configuration, the SCORM Cloud module will display a form for you to upload your SCORM course to the Cloud.

You can also use SCORM Cloud courses within other Moodle course formats like "weekly" by selecting "SCORM Cloud Course" from the "Add an activity" dropdown on the course outline page.
