Changing a Learner's email address in SCORM Cloud

Avatar

Question

Is there a way for me to change a Person's email address once I've added them? Or do I have to simply Archive the User and start over again. I have had some people give me one email address, then change their mind and give me another address.

Answer

As of right now, there is not a way to modify a person's email address after they have been added to the system. You are correct, you must archive the user and then re-enter the person.

I talked to one of the developers about this and it is on the board to think about, but since the email address is used as the primary id, for now, this is the only way to do it.

This helped but I have an issue.  I added a learner and put in the wrong email address, edited it to the correct address and now both the correct and the incorrect email are attached to the user.  This prevents me from entering the correct learner with their email.

    Rob,

Did you archive the learner listing with the incorrect email address? That will help remove the incorrect listing.

    Thanks,

    Tammy,

Thanks for the assistance.  But the problem still exist.  When I archive the user with the incorrect email and enter a new user with the email address that happens to be attached to the archived user the system errors stating that the user already exist in the realm.  I am totally befuddled.

    Rob,

Let's try this- go to the user from the People section in Cloud. You will see an option to Edit the user next to their name. You can update their email address there and save changes. The next time you send an invite to this user, it should pull the new email address. I just tested this to confirm that it works. You'll still see the other email addresses listed, but the primary address should be the new one.

Let me know if that works for you.

    Thanks,

    Tammy
